Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss counselling in Bristol and Online

When a future you imagined is suddenly changed

Pregnancy and reproductive experiences can bring some of the most profound and complex emotions we can encounter.

I offer counselling following miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic or molar pregnancy, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), and abortion, whether an abortion was chosen because the pregnancy wasn't right for you, for personal, social or health reasons, or because of a medical diagnosis. I also offer. counselling for those who are or thinking about getting pregnant again, after a loss.

There is no one way to feel after a pregnancy loss. You might experience grief, sadness, relief, anger, guilt, uncertainty, numbness or a mixture of emotions that are difficult to put into words. You may feel completely certain about your decision and still find yourself struggling afterwards. Or you may be questioning how you feel about what happened. Whatever your experience, you deserve space to explore it without judgement.

Sometimes what is affected isn't only the pregnancy itself, but the future you had imagined, or the future you decided wasn't right for you. Your experience may affect your relationships, your sense of identity, your connection with your body, or the way you think about future pregnancies and parenthood.

My experience

My understanding of pregnancy loss and reproductive experiences has been shaped by personal experiences of grief and by many years spent working within the NHS as a Specialist Nurse in an Early Pregnancy Unit. I have sat alongside women and their partners during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering care and support through experiences that are often unseen by the outside world.

Alongside my nursing background, I am a Petals-trained counsellor and have supported people through miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, abortion and termination for medical reasons (TFMR). I have also undertaken further training supporting those affected by stillbirth and baby loss and am proud to be listed as an approved counsellor with ARC.

A space without judgement

As a relational therapist, I offer a compassionate space where you can talk honestly about your experience without being judged or told how you should feel.

You might be grieving, processing a difficult experience, struggling with conflicting emotions, or simply trying to understand why you don't feel the way you expected to. You don't have to justify your decision, minimise your feelings or have everything figured out.

Together, we can explore what your experience has meant for you and how it has affected your relationships, your hopes for the future and, perhaps most importantly, your relationship with yourself.

You do not have to carry it alone.
