Hello

I'm Gabi.

I'm a relational therapist based in Bristol, offering counselling in person and online across the UK.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. You don't have to hide the parts of yourself you think are too much, either. We can make space for all of it, together.

All of you is welcome here.

My Story

About Me

Hello, I’m Gabi.

I’m a relational counsellor based in Bristol, offering counselling both in person and online across the UK.

I decided to become a counsellor while working as a nurse in A&E. I realised that the part of the job I loved most wasn't tending to the physical wounds, but the emotional ones. I loved hearing people's stories, the reasons they had ended up in A&E and the life behind what was happening for them.

I later worked as a hospice nurse and as an Early Pregnancy Specialist Nurse. These roles taught me that there is often much more going on beneath the reason someone walks through a hospital door. The things we can find hardest to talk about, such as grief, trauma, relationships, loss, fear and shame, are often the things we have most in common.

My own experiences of trauma and pregnancy loss have also shaped the counsellor I am today. When I sought counselling myself, I found some of my experiences were brushed over. I was given silver linings when what I really needed was someone who could sit with me in what had happened.

It taught me a lot about the kind of therapist I wanted to be.

I know what it is like to feel that your emotions are too much. Growing up, I was often told I was too sensitive, that I cried too easily, talked too much or daydreamed too much. I see those things very differently now. My sensitivity is something I value, and I think the parts of ourselves we have been told are "too much" often need understanding rather than changing.

This is something I hope to offer in our work together.

How I Work

I'm not going to sit opposite you and tell you what you should do. I'm not the expert on you. You are. I'm here to sit with you in your story and help you make sense of things that perhaps haven't felt possible to explore on your own.

I'm also not a passive listener. I will talk with you, share what I'm noticing and sometimes gently challenge you. I want you to feel able to disagree with me too. I would much rather you say, "No, that's not it at all. It's actually like this."

I want you to feel seen, heard and empowered to be yourself, away from the expectations of parents, partners and society.

There is no "bad enough" to come to counselling. There will always be someone who is worse off, but that doesn't make your feelings any less valid.

Pregnancy Loss

My work as an Early Pregnancy Specialist Nurse, my own experience of pregnancy loss and my counselling training have naturally led me to specialise in this area.

I understand the medical side, the emotional side and the grief that can come with pregnancy loss. I know how much people can need somewhere to talk where their experience doesn't need to be minimised, explained away or hurried through.

I support people through miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, TFMR, fertility difficulties and related loss.

I also work with neurodivergent clients and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I want to create a space where you don't have to edit or hide parts of yourself to feel accepted.

Outside of counselling, I'm happiest around nature, forests, animals and the sea. I love poetry and music, and I value kindness, authenticity, connection and equality.

If you're wondering whether counselling might be right for you, you're welcome to arrange a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone or Zoom call. You don't need to know what you're going to say, and there's no expectation that you'll decide anything on the call.

Just come for a chat and see how it feels.

All of you is welcome here.
