Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss counselling in Bristol and Online
When the future you imagined is suddenly changed
Pregnancy and reproductive experiences can bring some of the most profound and complex emotions we can encounter. When things don't go as expected, it can be difficult to know what you are feeling, or where to turn for support.
I am a BACP registered counsellor offer miscarriage and pregnancy loss counselling in Bristol and online, supporting people following miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic or molar pregnancy, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), and abortion.
I also offer counselling if you are pregnant, considering pregnancy, or thinking about trying to conceive again following a loss. You may be experiencing anxiety about a future pregnancy, struggling with difficult memories, or finding that your previous experience continues to affect you.
There is no one way to feel after a pregnancy loss. You might experience grief, sadness, relief, anger, guilt, uncertainty or numbness. You may experience several of these emotions at once, or find yourself feeling something you didn't expect at all.
You may feel completely certain about a decision and still find yourself struggling afterwards. Or you may be questioning how you feel about what happened. Whatever your experience, you deserve a space where you can explore your feelings without judgement.
Sometimes what is affected isn't only the pregnancy itself, but the future you had imagined – or the future you had decided wasn't right for you. Your experience may affect your relationships, your sense of identity, your connection with your body, or the way you think about future pregnancies and parenthood.
My experience
My understanding of pregnancy loss and reproductive experiences has been shaped by personal experiences of grief and by many years working within the NHS as a Specialist Nurse in an Early Pregnancy Unit.
I have supported women and their partners through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, providing care during experiences that can be deeply painful but are often unseen or misunderstood by the people around them.
Alongside my nursing background, I am a Petals-trained counsellor and have supported people through miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, abortion and termination for medical reasons (TFMR).
I have also undertaken further training in supporting people affected by stillbirth and baby loss, and I am proud to be listed as an approved counsellor with ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices).
A space without judgement
As a relational therapist, I offer a compassionate space where you can talk honestly about what has happened and how you are feeling, without being judged or told how you should feel.
You might be grieving, processing a difficult experience, struggling with conflicting emotions, or simply trying to understand why you don't feel the way you expected to.
You don't have to justify your decision, minimise your feelings or have everything figured out before coming to counselling.
Together, we can explore what your experience has meant for you and how it has affected your relationships, your hopes for the future and, perhaps most importantly, your relationship with yourself.
You do not have to carry it alone.
